The Property

The Farmhouse is an attractive Grade II Listed farmhouse recorded as dating back to the seventeenth century with later additions. There is a wealth of character throughout the house with lovely wooden floors, exposed beams and timbers, open fireplaces and the old hatch through which the farm workers would have been paid.

Both the principal reception rooms are accessed off the entrance hall and benefit from open fireplaces with the sitting room having double doors opening out into the garden. At the heart of the house is the farmhouse style kitchen/breakfast room which has a good range of wood fronted units under wooden work surfaces and a two oven Aga set into the old fireplace. Completing the downstairs accommodation is a dining room and a walk in larder within the original heart of the property.

On the first floor all of the bedrooms benefit from exposed floor boards with the main benefitting from a pretty Victorian style fireplace and a good range of built in wardrobes. There are a further three bedrooms, one with a pretty fireplace, a family bathroom and a family shower room with a large walk in shower.

Outside

The Farmhouse is approached via an electric five bar gate onto a gravel drive giving access to a parking area and the detached double garage. The front garden is bordered by a low brick wall and is mostly laid to lawn with well stocked flower beds. A brick pathway leads from the driveway to the front door.

The majority of the garden is to the side of the house and is laid to lawn with the River Lyde (a tributary to the River Loddon) running along one side. At the rear of the house there is a terrace enjoying views down the garden.
