Nestled between Basingstoke and Reading lies this quiet, quaint and charming picturesque Hampshire village.

At the heart of this thriving village lies an active village hall which has been serving the community for over 100 years with activities and events still going on today from weddings and barn dances to Sunday markets and beer festivals. The village hall has annual events such as the flower show and beer festival as well as holding a number of group meetings and classes ranging from yoga to dance classes to playgroups.

In the centre of the village is the delightful village green which hosts an annual fete. Locals can relax and stroll through the protected open green spaces while kids can play in the playground or feed the ducks at the ponds. The local amenities include a superb village shop which caters for your everyday needs with fresh fruit and veg stalls and an excellent butchers. There is an award winning coffee shop serving excellent coffee, tea, freshly made cakes and delicious light meals and a hair and beauty salon.

The White Hart is a lovely 17th century pub with an excellent beer garden and a number of popular beers, ales, ciders and wines with a great selection of traditional English meals, pub classics and Sunday roasts. The 15th century Longbridge Mill sits on the river Loddon with a cosy and warm environment with classic country pub meals. Sherfield Oaks is a superb 36 hole golf course and venue with a stunning barn-style clubhouse serving hot and cold drinks and food on the edge of the village.

There are some great local schools too including the highly regarded Sherfield School for ages ranging from 3 months to 18 years. Nearby Chineham, Bramley and Hook offer good infant, junior and primary schools and Basingstoke has some well-performing secondary schools.

There are many nearby attractions too with The National Trusts – The Vyne just a short drive where you can explore the grade 1 listed 16th century Tudor home and get lost in the gardens and ancient woodlands home to a 600 year old oak tree. Wellington Country Park is an award winning destination set in 350 acres of parklands for all the family to enjoy with social events running throughout the year.

There is excellent links for the village too with the A33 providing easy access to both the M4 at Reading and M3 at Basingstoke with mainline stations at Reading providing frequent and fast trains to London Paddington in around 25 minutes and Basingstoke providing trains to London Waterloo in around 45 minutes. The neighbouring village of Bramley has a train station linking Basingstoke and Reading.
